Alright, Perri Sports Hub faithful, it’s time to rank the top 10 running backs in the NFL as we approach the 2024 season. These are the guys who will carry your fantasy teams, break some hearts (and tackles), and give defensive coordinators sleepless nights. As usual, we’re keeping it real. Let’s dive in.

1. Christian McCaffrey (CMC)

Let’s start with the human Swiss Army knife, Christian McCaffrey. CMC is the kind of guy who makes fantasy owners feel like geniuses and defensive coordinators cry into their playbooks. The dude can run, catch, block, and probably fix your Wi-Fi while he’s at it. With Kyle Shanahan pulling the strings, CMC is about to have another season of making defenders look like they’re playing two-hand touch.

2. Derrick Henry

Derrick Henry is built like a truck and runs like he’s late for a meeting with destiny. If you’re a defender, seeing Henry barreling down the field is like watching a horror movie in slow motion. The guy doesn’t just break tackles; he obliterates them, leaving a trail of broken dreams and shattered egos in his wake. Henry’s stiff arm should be classified as a lethal weapon. Too bad he's with the Ratbirds and plays the Steelers twice a year, so that keep that in mind.

3. Saquon Barkley

Saquon Barkley is like that sports car you bought but only drive on weekends because you’re scared it might break down. When he’s healthy, Barkley is electric, darting through defenses like they’re standing still. He’s got the agility of a cat and the power of a freight train. The only question is, can he stay on the field long enough to remind everyone why he’s a top-three back?

4. Najee Harris

Najee Harris is the human embodiment of “don’t judge a book by its cover.” People love to talk about the Steelers’ offensive line issues, but Najee still finds a way to make defenders look silly. He’s got the vision, the hands, and the power to be the guy who carries Pittsburgh’s offense. And let’s not forget, he’s the reason fantasy owners are still sane when they draft late in the first round. He will have another 1000 yard + season and 10+ TD's.

5. Jonathan Taylor

Ah, Jonathan Taylor, the guy who turned into Usain Bolt for one season and then ghosted us like Aaron Hernandez. Injuries and contract drama might have slowed him down, but let’s not forget that Taylor was the league’s rushing leader in 2021. When he’s on, he’s a force of nature, cutting through defenses like a hot knife through butter. If he can stay healthy and sort out his contract issues, he’s a top-five lock.

6. Josh Jacobs

Josh Jacobs led the league in rushing last season and still somehow feels underrated. The man runs like he’s got something to prove—probably because he does. After getting franchise-tagged by the Raiders, Jacobs is out to show that he’s worth every penny he’s not getting. Expect another season of him grinding out yards and making defenses regret they didn’t bring extra band-aids.

7. Jahmyr Gibbs

Jahmyr Gibbs is the new kid on the block, and he’s already making waves. Detroit took him high in the draft, and it’s not hard to see why. Gibbs is a dual-threat monster, the kind of player who can catch a screen pass and take it to the house or split the tackles for a big gain. He’s got the speed, the moves, and the swagger to make a real impact. The Lions might actually be onto something here—who knew?

** If he plays, currently injured

8. Joe Mixon

Joe Mixon is like that really reliable guy at work who never gets any credit. He just shows up, does his job, and occasionally makes everyone else look bad. Mixon’s ability to grind out yards and catch passes out of the backfield makes him a valuable asset for the Bengals’ high-powered offense. He’s not flashy, but he’s consistent—and that’s worth a lot in this league. Again, playing the Steelers twice, so keep that in mind.

9. Bijan Robinson

Bijan Robinson is a lethal back who has only played one season and he's still in my top 10. On the Antonio Brown podcast "CTESPN" with Le'Veon Bell, Bell stated that Bijan has the best dead leg in the NFL and is his favourite back in the league to watch. That’s how much hype this guy has. The Falcons took him early in the first round for a reason—he’s a generational talent. Robinson’s got the vision, the burst, and the hands to be a superstar. Atlanta fans, get ready to fall in love with a running back all over again.

10. Alvin Kamara

Alvin Kamara rounds out our list because, even though he’s had some off-the-field issues, the guy can still ball. Kamara’s versatility is what makes him dangerous; he’s just as likely to catch a 40-yard bomb as he is to run between the tackles. The Saints will need every bit of his playmaking ability to navigate the post-Brees era. Plus, let’s be honest, Kamara is just fun to watch.

Bang!

So, there you go—the top 10 running backs who are going to dominate the NFL this season. Whether you’re building your fantasy team or just love watching grown men get juked out of their shoes, these are the guys to keep an eye on.
